The Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association represents and serves the diversified needs of our members and the community. We are an active voice in promoting safe, quality, cost-effective, and affordable housing.
Members of the Association are motivated to uplift themselves, their businesses, the home building industry as a whole, and the communities we live in through professional affiliation.
We are a non-profit association of building construction and associated industry professionals affiliated with the New Mexico Home Builders Association and the National Association of Home Builders. We serve the counties of Santa Fe, Los Alamos, Taos, Rio Arriba, San Miguel, Mora, and Colfax and are affiliated with the New Mexico Home Builders Association and the influential National Association of Home Builders headquartered in Washington D.C.

Members are part of increasing the respect for our home building professions and enhance our collective importance to the Santa Fe Area & New Mexico economy. Members of the Association abide by a strong code of ethics.
Representation – the best interests and concerns of the home building and maintenance industry are represented through our Association to governmental and regulatory agencies, as well as elected officials at the local, state and national levels. Our work to effectively enact or positively influence legislation and regulations promotes affordable housing, construction innovation, and keeps the industry economically viable. In addition, the Association’s counsel and representation is sought out for governmental boards and commissions and other civic endeavors, further increasing the influence of our Association to the benefit of membership and the communities in which our members live.
Education – Professional and informative education programs and seminars, including knowledgeable speakers at general meetings, keep members on the cutting edge for current building issues and other issues that affect our industry. Additionally, a pre apprenticeship program in the building trades has been started in conjunction with the Santa Fe Community College.

SFAHBA Home Show and Expo – This annual trade show and exhibition for the home building industry is the leading industry event in Northern New Mexico area. The show is an outstanding opportunity for members to display their products to other members, the industry, and the public.
Haciendas – A Parade of Homes – This is a promotion for new homes that presents innovative designs and technology to the buying public. A two-weekend event which coincides with the Santa Fe Indian Market, in 2020 SFAHBA launched an enhanced virtual experience in response to the pandemic which increased the scope and reach of our traditional Haciendas experience.
Industry Recognition Events – SFAHBA annual holiday party includes the officer installation and recognition dinner. The Remodelers Awards event is held in the Spring, and Builder and.

Builder Members – Individuals or firms engaged in the business of residential, commercial building, green building and remodeling.
Associate Members – Individuals or firms engaged in professions related to or concerned with the home building industry; e.g., subcontractors from all home industry building trades, manufactures, suppliers, title companies, realtors, mortgage lenders & financial institutions, attorneys, architects, engineers, realtors, accountants, and everyone who provides goods or services to the home building industry.
Affiliate Members – For companies with primary membership who wish to have an additional membership.

We fulfill our mission by encouraging members to maintain high ethical and professional standards and bring an active voice to government affairs and the regulatory process by promoting proper, forward looking, and reasonable codes and regulations. Member collaborate with professionals in all fields related to the home building industry. We engage in political, societal, economic and environmental issues and are and advocate for people’s economic prosperity and quality of life.
