Affordable Energy Efficient Home Design
Located in Oshara Village and surrounded by panoramic views of untapped desert-toned landscape, this home showcases the quality construction, award-winning design, and innovative sustainability practices used by Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity.
This house marks SFH’s 130th affordable home constructed since the affiliate’s inception in 1987. The organization builds 5-8 homes annually in partnership with local families. Partner Families are provided a zero-interest mortgage loan and comprehensive educational programming to ensure their long-term success and to break cycles of housing poverty for generations to come.
By investing in the building process through sweat equity hours, SFH’s families gain self-reliance and valuable skills. By investing time, resources, and expertise into the community, SFH volunteers, donors, organizations, and businesses gain new relationships which extend far beyond the immediate impact. The vision of a world where everyone has access to affordable housing brings together people from all walks of life, with varied skills and economic backgrounds. Together, we achieve a common goal through service to others. This nonprofit build houses and hope.
