Water and Building in New Mexico:

Presentation and Q&A
Thursday, April 18th, at 12 NOON
2520 Camino Entrada, Suite B, Santa Fe, 87507

Luncheon Topics:

  1. State Updates to the Plumbing Code
  2. Promoting the use of graywater
  3. Santa Fe Water Conservation Office pilot projects
  4. Updates to City of Santa Fe Green Building Code

The State has updated the plumbing code and it is now in place for the entire State, including the City of Santa Fe and Santa Fe County:

  • The Environmental Department has been working with a team of regulators, industry and homebuilders who have been meeting monthly to discuss how we can promote the use of graywater.  The team has a simple graywater system application DRAFT, created a list of regulatory changes, and has included kitchen sink waste water for tiny homes. This is an informal meeting to keep you informed and allow for your input.

  • The City of Santa Fe Water Conservation Office is rolling out new pilot projects this summer and would like to builder and design community input

  • The City of Santa Fe is updating the Green Building Code with new water provisions that reduce the current WERS (Water Efficiency Rating Score) number and a WERS requirement to multi-family complexes and water efficiency requirements for remodels.

Please join us at this LUNCH & LEARN at the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association at noon on April 18th.
