Simple, Affordable And Sustainable
Located in the Las Soleras neighborhood, this home showcases the quality of construction, award-winning design, and green-building practices of Santa Fe Habitat for Humanity in its mission to build affordable housing in the Santa Fe community. Since 1987, Santa Fe Habitat has built more than 125 homes for low-income families. Annually, the organization constructs homes in partnership with local families, working alongside the construction team to put sweat equity hours into their future homes. By providing a zero-interest mortgage loan and comprehensive programming to educate future homeowners, the nonprofit is an essential piece of Santa Fe’s affordable housing puzzle. With all-electric appliances, LED lighting, and a rooftop solar array, these well insulated, energy-efficient homes are capable of producing more energy than they consume over the course of a year. The nonprofit was also awarded Design of the Year in the 2020 Habitat House Design Contest.
