A Cerro Gordo whole house remodel began with the stabilization of an exterior hill and turned a previously unsafe deck into the centerpiece of an outdoor living paradise. But the full story of this remodeling journey extends into the home’s interior.
The 4,400 square foot home was revitalized through custom structural modifications and hand-painted wall designs while safeguarding the original adobe construction and charm. The project also reimagined an attached guesthouse, a two-car garage and 600 square feet (about half the area of a tennis court) of new exterior living space. The owner’s paramount desire focused on preserving the property’s neighborhood significance and old Santa Fe style, yet mindful of the need for modern energy-efficient fixtures, HVAC, building materials and techniques.
This extensive project exceeded the homeowner’s expectations and has brought comfort and pleasure to their lives. That’s the power of a remodel says Bill Deuschle, managing member of Fabu-WALL-ous Solutions.
“This is what builders do for a community, they can reshape a built environment to serve as a home into the future while respecting and preserving the building traditions of the past.”
